Mission

The mission of the Anesthesia Library is to provide accessibility to books, journals and online resources that support the research and education of medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty affiliated with the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.

The Anesthesia Library collection contains Anesthesia books, journals, videos, DVDs, CDs, and resident readings and references.

Books that are marked REFERENCE are to only to be used in the library and are not to be removed. Other materials can be loaned for a two week period. If you are interested in borrowing material from the library, please contact the Anesthesia Library Assistant.

As of 2009, you can now search the contents of all three Department Libraries ONLINE.

Welcome to the Dept. of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine’s journal inventory. From the following slides, you can browse through the journals that we have available, from ongoing subscriptions, to past subscriptions that have since been archived.

The majority of the periodicals are housed at the University Hospital Anesthesia Library, located on the third floor, Room B3-222. However, if you are unable to visit the UH location, please e-mail the Anesthesia Library Assistant, Brie Galloway, who will be able to retrieve article(s) on your behalf, and if possible, deliver a hardcopy or PDF or your request.

If you would prefer to browse though the University of Western Ontario’s libraries, you may do so but please note that you will need to log in to the off-campus proxy in order to search this database.

Direct links to the LHSC databases are available on the Library website, however, access may be restricted to site-location, and log-in information may also be required.

Archived Periodical Subscriptions for the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine::

The print subscriptions for the following journal titles have been cancelled as of 2009 for the Dept. Library order. All of the journal titles that have been cancelled for the Library are available via the UWO Libraries (proxy access required), in full-text and with searchable archives. If you require any assistance locating an article for one of the following archived titles, please advise the Library Assistant.

Although the print-copies have since been cancelled, the following periodicals and yearbooks, remain bound and archived at the Dept. Library, and therefore can still be used as a valuable resource for hardcopy journal articles.
